Long Island native Jon Bellion wrote, recorded and self-produced his 2016 debut album, The Human Condition (Capitol Records/Visionary Music Group), which entered the Billboard 200 at #5 and earned a spot on Billboard’s Best Albums of 2016 (So Far) list. The first single, “All Time Low,” topped the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart, was named as one of NPR’s Top 100 songs of 2016, and jumped into the top 15 at Top 40 radio. Now certified Platinum, it has nearly 60 million streams on Spotify in the U.S. The “All Time Low” video boasts over eight million views.
One Direction’s Niall Horan made his solo debut in late 2016 with the single “This Town.” The song, which Horan co-wrote, reached #1 in 60 countries in the first 24 hours of its release, became the #1 trending topic worldwide on Twitter and topped the Shazam chart in numerous countries. Combined streams now surpass 250 million worldwide. “This Town” has sold more than 2.5 million track equivalent units globally and is certified Platinum in the U.S. Views of Horan’s “1 Mic 1 Take” performance video exceed 30 million. The 23-year-old artist won his first solo People’s Choice Award in 2016, taking home the award for Favorite Breakout Artist. The intimate track gave fans a taste of what they can expect from Horan in 2017.
With front-woman Rena Lovelis, her sister Nia on drums, lead guitarist Casey Moreta, and Miranda Miller on keys, Los Angeles-based Hey Violet has been playing together for several years and making music individually since they were old enough to ask for lessons. Introduced by her older sister, Miley, RECORDS recording artist Noah Cyrus made her televised awards show debut at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards and received a standing ovation from the audience following her performance of “Make Me (Cry)” with Labrinth. Cyrus and Labrinth’s performance was a standout according to Billboard, who ranked their performance second best to Bruno Mars and noted her “impressive pipes.”
Cyrus and Labrinth performed the Gold-certified single on Ellen on March 13, while the debut track has received almost 225 million global audio and video streams. The song is also Platinum in Sweden and Norway as well as being certified Gold in Canada.
