If you thought it was a blowout the first time, Detroit’s own Big Sean is back home at DTE Energy Music Theatre on Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m.
“I’m so excited to perform new music from Hall of Fame in front of my hometown crowd,” said Big Sean.
Tickets at $45, $35, $25 in the pavilion and $20 on the lawn go on sale at 10 a.m., June 14 at Palacenet.com, Livenation.com, The Palace and DTE Energy Music Theatre Ticket Stores and all Ticketmaster locations, including The Locker Room Store at Great Lakes Crossing. Tickets may be also charged by phone to American Express, Discover, Visa and MasterCard by calling 800.745.3000.
The Oakland Press said Big Sean “blew the roof off” The Palace when he packed the place in December with Kanye West, J. Cole, Pusha T and Common. The Cass Tech grad’s official debut, Finally Famous: The Album in 2011, peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 chart, and included hit certified gold singles “My Last” and “Marvin & Chardonnay,” and the double platinum “Dance (A$$),” a remix featuring rapper Nicki Minaj.
His sophomore album, Hall of Fame: Memoirs of a Detroit Player, is scheduled to be released in August. He filmed the video for his first single “Guap” in Detroit last October and the single made the Billboard Hot 100.
“Everything I do, I always try and make the city proud,” said Big Sean. “We’re going to light it up.”
