Grammy Award-winning trio, Lady Antebellum bring their North American Take Me Downtown Tour along with special guests Billy Currington and Joe Nichols to DTE Energy Music Theatre on Aug. 22 at 7 p.m.

After recently returning to sold out arenas for the opening of tour, Lady Antebellum – Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood – are extending their North American tour to nearly 80 cities.

“The energy from the crowds on opening weekend was like a drug…it was totally intoxicating,” said Lady A’s Charles Kelley. “It felt so unbelievable to be back on stage together, and each night was better than the last.  We're going on to North Dakota this weekend and from now through the summer amphitheater shows, we're going to try and raise the bar night after night."

Since the harmony-based trio formed in 2006, they’ve quickly risen to become among Country Music’s most influential groups. “Lady A” won the Vocal Group of the Year honor from both the Country Music Association and from the Academy of Country Music three times in a row.

Ten of the band’s singles went gold, with five – “American Honey,” “Need You Now,” “Just A Kiss,” “I Run To You” and “Downtown” – surpassing the platinum mark. “Need You Now” went on to sell over seven million downloads, according to the RIAA. Additionally, “Need You Now” claimed five of the trio’s seven career Grammy wins in 2011, including the all-genre Record and Song of the Year.
