"Good News Tour"
Five-time Grammy® Award-winning music collective Maverick City Music has announced the “Good News Tour” with performances from Naomi Raine, Chandler Moore, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, JWLKRS, Nick Day, Todd Galberth, Mara Justine, Brunes Charles, and Genavieve. Special guest performers include Tim Godfrey, Stephen McWhirter, and Sam Rivera. The tour will perform at Little Caesars Arena on Thursday, November 14 at 7 p.m. After the success of “The Maverick Way Tour” in 2023, Maverick City Music aims to bring fans across the U.S. together to celebrate the enduring passion for spiritual connection through transformative music. Their latest genre-fusion album, The Maverick Way Reimagined features different genres that blend Afrobeats, R&B, Gospel, and Christian Contemporary Music. The “Good News Tour” will showcase each of these elements to give concert-goers a brand-new experience unlike any Maverick City Music tour they’ve witnessed before.
“We are so excited to get back on the road again and bring this music to people alongside dear friends of ours,” says Co-Founders of Maverick City Music and TRIBL Records Jonathan Jay and Norman Gyamfi. “We’re always hoping to set the standard of collaboration by making space for gifted artists wherever we go. We believe God will move mightily through this tour and the lives of those attending.”
The group was founded in 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia, by Jonathan Jay and Norman Gyamfi with the aim of breaking down racial and denominational barriers in Christian music. In 2021, Maverick City Music received a Grammy® Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for their album Old Church Basement. In 2023, the group received four Grammys for Best Gospel Performance/Song (“Kingdom” feat. Naomi Raine and Chandler Moore), Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance (“Fear is Not My Future” feat. Brandon Lake and Chandler Moore), Best Contemporary Christian Music Album (“Breathe”) and Best Gospel Album (Kingdom Book One Deluxe). At the 66th Grammy® Awards, Maverick City Music was nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song (“God Problems”) and Best Gospel Album (The Maverick Way). In addition to five Grammy® awards, the group also won four GMA Dove Awards, one Billboard Music Award, and one Soul Train Award.
