“Forty years of iconic music from the legendary Hall-of-Famer,” guarantees fans high-octane performances filled with the best of the Red Rocker’s prolific and storied career. Hagar will be joined by his Chickenfoot band mate and “other half” of Van Hager, Michael Anthony for Sammy Hagar Four Decades of Rock.
Hagar, former Van Halen front man and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, is currently on his fourth platinum run with the supergroup, Chickenfoot. He’s also become a dedicated philanthropist, a New York Times best-selling author and a successful entrepreneur with his CaboWabo Tequila brand, Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum and several successful bars and restaurants.
After bursting on to the scene in San Francisco as the lead singer of Montrose, and with eight solo albums, Hagar joined Van Halen in 1985. They had four consecutive #1 albums before the band broke up in the mid-nineties. He later returned to Van Halen to lead a triumphant 2004 reunion tour.
Aside from making his mark as a songwriter and vocalist, Hagar has played with a succession of genius guitar players; from Ronnie Montrose and Neal Schon to Eddie Van Halen and Joe Satriani from his current group, Chickenfoot, which also features former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
Hagar’s autobiography, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock, reached #1 on the New York Times Best Seller List in 2011 as a hardcover and again claimed the same spot in paperback in 2012.
