COLLEGE FOR CREATIVE STUDIES PARTNERSHIP
313 Presents recently announced a new partnership with College for Creative Studies (CCS) to establish a poster competition at Pine Knob Music Theatre. Working with some of the top illustration and design students in the country at CCS, a well-respected art and design college in Midtown Detroit, 313 Presents will sponsor a class each fall to highlight their talents in an annual poster design competition.
The winning design for Pine Knob’s first-ever poster competition is Alison Slackta from Byron, MI. The winning poster will serve as the venue’s Proud Partner promotional giveaway at select events and available while supplies last for purchase throughout the season at the venue. A portion of the poster proceeds will be donated to CCS. Concertgoers who attend this year’s season opener – 99.5 WYCD’s Hoedown featuring Tim McGraw on Saturday, May 20 – will receive Pine Knob’s first-ever keepsake poster.
This year’s contest included numerous participants from the CCS Illustration class led by instructor Don Kilpatrick. Hosted throughout the 2022 Fall semester, 313 Presents worked with students to provide real-world experience with an actual “client” to create a professional look and feel for their finished creation that was to represent Pine Knob’s beloved summertime tradition and serve as its official limited run 2023 commemorative poster. Students with the top three deigns received small scholarship awards from 313 Presents.
