Detroit Pistons Legends to Headline Motor City Madness Champions Brunch
DETROIT – The Horizon League and 313 Presents will gather with former Detroit Pistons legends for the second annual Champions Brunch at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday, March 6, at 10 a.m. ET. The brunch will precede the Little Caesars Horizon League Women’s Basketball Championship Game at Noon and the men’s championship game at 7 p.m.
Panelists scheduled to speak inside the Rehmann Club at Little Caesars Arena include former Pistons greats Earl Cureton, James “Buddha” Edwards and Rick Mahorn. Moderating the session will be Lauren Jbara, a reporter for Fox Sports and the Pistons’ in-arena host at Little Caesars Arena.

Biographical Information about the Panelists:
Rick Mahorn played 18 years in the NBA, including seven seasons for the Pistons, winning the 1989 NBA Championship. He was a second-round pick of the Washington Bullets in 1980. Mahorn scored 7,763 career points and pulled down 6,957 career rebounds. He currently serves as a radio analyst for the Pistons.
James “Buddha” Edwards played 19 years in the NBA, including three seasons for the Pistons, where he was a member of the 1989 and 1990 NBA Championship teams. Edwards, who was a third-round selection of the Los Angeles Lakers in 1977, averaged 12.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in his NBA career. Edwards played his college basketball at Washington, appearing in 106 career games.
Earl Cureton played 13 years in the NBA, including three seasons for the Pistons. Cureton was a third-round pick of the Philadelphia 76ers in 1979. He scored more than 3,600 points and recorded over 3,100 rebounds in his NBA career. Cureton played his final two seasons of college basketball at Detroit Mercy. He currently serves as a community ambassador for the Pistons.

Ticket prices for Motor City Madness, which will take place March 2-6, begin at $15 per day and will feature all 20 Horizon League teams competing in 18 games over a five-day span. The tournament will culminate with a pair of championship games on Tuesday, March 6 with automatic berths to the NCAA Basketball Tournament at stake. Tickets purchased for each day are valid for all games on that day.
