All-New Documentary Film The Beach Boys
To Stream On Disney+ Beginning May 24
(DETROIT – May 21, 2024) – The Beach Boys today announced actor, producer, and musician John Stamos will join them as a special guest on a string of summer tour dates for their “Endless Summer Gold” 2024 tour, celebrating the 50th anniversary of their iconic Endless Summer album. Stamos will visit venues across the East Coast, Midwest, and West Coast including several dates at iconic amphitheaters throughout the country such as Meadow Brook Amphitheatre in Rochester Hills, MI; Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA; Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, IL; and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The announcement comes on the heels of Stamos’ performance with the band at Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA, which brought crowds of all ages to their feet, serving as a testament that The Beach Boys’ music continues to transcend generations with its timeless appeal. John Stamos has had a longstanding relationship with The Beach Boys dating back to July 4, 1985 when he played his first official show with the iconic band at the Washington Monument, for close to a million people. Stamos aimed to introduce a younger generation to the timeless music of The Beach Boys and prominently featured the band on Full House and his subsequent television shows. Throughout almost four decades, he has maintained an enduring friendship with The Beach Boys and has captivated audiences on various worldwide tours. Stamos has appeared in several of their music videos and even directed the video for their song “Hot Fun in the Summertime.” One of his most notable contributions was his appearance in their chart-topping hit single “Kokomo.” Stamos enthusiastically describes The Beach Boys music as “heart music,” explaining how it bypasses the brain and goes directly to the heart. “I believe their songs have been patiently waiting for this moment, perfectly timed to uplift spirits, especially when needed the most,” he said. “I’m humbled that I get to be part of something truly special, something bigger than ourselves. The Beach Boys today also announced that they will bring three shows of their Endless Summer: An Exclusive Vegas Engagement to The Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian Resort Las Vegas this September. The shows will be held on Wednesday, September 4, Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 8:30 p.m. Tickets start at $45, plus applicable fees, and will go on sale to the general public Friday, May 24, at 10 a.m. PT. On Friday, May 24, the all-new documentary, The Beach Boys, will be available for streaming exclusively on Disney+. The Beach Boys is a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music, and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come. The documentary traces the band from humble family beginnings and features never-before-seen footage and all-new interviews with The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, Bruce Johnston, plus other luminaries in the music business, including Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder, and Don Was. Viewers will also hear from the group’s Carl and Dennis Wilson in their own words, plus view a new interview with Blondie Chaplin and hear audio from Ricky Fataar. A Kennedy/Marshall and White Horse Pictures Production, The Beach Boys is directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny and written by Mark Monroe.
