(DETROIT – May 5, 2019) – 313 Presents announces its 2019 summer concert season, showcasing the music industry’s top touring acts to perform at world-class venues – DTE Energy Music Theatre, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre, Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill, Little Caesars Arena and the Fox Theatre. 

“We’re thrilled to begin another exciting summer concert season at our three renowned amphitheatres, as well as Little Caesars Arena and the Fox Theatre in the District Detroit,” said Tom Wilson, Interim President of 313 Presents. “In addition to hosting multiple-night performances by Bob Seger and Kid Rock, this summer’s schedule offers concertgoers a great variety of entertainment options. The summer concert season begins this Saturday, May 11 with breakthrough British band The 1975 at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre. The following weekend, Slayer brings “Leg Five: North America” of its Final World Tour to open DTE Energy Music Theatre on May 19. Legendary pop/R&B group New Edition’s Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins are joining forces once again as RBRM bring the “4 The Love Of It Tour” to open the season at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill on May 30.

DTE ENERGY MUSIC THEATRE – MULTIPLE DATE PERFORMANCES HIGHLIGHT SCHEDULE

Ranked among the top amphitheatres in the world, DTE Energy Music Theatre’s 2019 schedule is highlighted by four multiple-date performers, the most since it hosted four in 2004. Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band will perform six shows as part of his “Roll Me Away Tour” on June 6, 8, 12, 14, 19 and 21, and Kid Rock returns for back-to-back weekend performances of “Hot September Nights” on September 6 & 7 and 13 & 14. Michigan loves its country music as Florida Georgia Line bring their “2019 Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour” to DTE for two nights on August 10 and 22, and Jason Aldean closes out the summer with his “2019 Ride All Night Tour” on September 28 and 29.

Country stars Luke Combs (May 30) and Thomas Rhett (June 20) make their headline debuts at DTE this summer. Local Parrotheads will soak in the full Margaritaville experience when Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band returns for his 33rd concert at DTE on July 16. Hootie & The Blowfish are touring together again following a 10+ year break and will be back on the DTE stage for the first time since September 2007 on August 16.

Other highlights at DTE include the return of 99.5 WYCD Hoedown featuring main stage performances from Brantley Gilbert, Joe Nichols and Caylee Hammack on June 15, Lionel Richie on June 30, Dave Matthews Band on July 9 and Chris Stapleton on August 2. Nine co-headline bills are scheduled, including Alice Cooper and Halestorm on July 20, Train and Goo Goo Dolls on July 23, Mary J. Blige and Nas on July 28 and Korn and Alice In Chains on August 13.

MEADOW BROOK AMPHITHEATRE

Located on the campus of Oakland University, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre is one of the premier intimate venues in the region, and its traditional and eclectic programming will feature some of the most prestigious names in the entertainment industry as well as music’s biggest emerging stars. Enjoy two full sets from co-headliners Buddy Guy and Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band on June 13, Ben Folds and Violent Femmes on August 11 and +LIVE+ and Bush as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of their respective landmark albums on September 8. 

Bridging the gap between rock ‘n’ roll and classical music, conductor and arranger Brent Havens will return to the podium with the acclaimed Detroit Symphony Orchestra to present The Music of Queen on July 14. Sarah McLachlan will perform with the Meadow Brook Festival Orchestra on August 10. Now with over 20 million albums sold into their career, The B-52s continue to celebrate as 104.3 WOMC presents their 40th Anniversary Tour with special guests OMD and Berlin on September 14.

MICHIGAN LOTTERY AMPHITHEATRE AT FREEDOM HILL

This year’s schedule at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill will feature a diverse array of the top touring acts. The Wu-Tang Clan celebrate their 25th anniversary of their album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), on May 31 while ZZ Top, who have been around twice as long, bring their 50th Anniversary Tour on September 8. Capping over 50 years of touring and recording, George Clinton is set to retire and embarks on his final tour, “One Nation Under a Groove Tour,” with the legendary Parliament Funkadelic on June 20.

Seven co-headline bills also highlight the summer schedule at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre and will feature full sets from Coheed and Cambria & Mastodon on June 11, Willie Nelson & Family and Alison Krauss on June 25, Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World on June 28, Young The Giant & Fitz and the Tantrums on June 29, The Temptations and The Righteous Brothers on July 27, moe. and Blues Traveler on July 30, and Social Distortion and Flogging Molly on September 6.

LITTLE CAESARS ARENA

Tours slated for Little Caesars Arena in The District Detroit this summer include The Who (May 28), New Kids on the Block (June 18), Hugh Jackman (June 24), Jennifer Lopez (July 5), Jeff Lynne’s ELO (July 20), Queen + Adam Lambert (July 27), Khalid (July 28), John Mayer (August 2), Shawn Mendes (August 5), the Backstreet Boys (August 12) and the Jonas Brothers (September 7).

BUD LIGHT HILLTOP DECK

Fans looking to entertain a group of friends or clients can reserve one of Bud Light Hilltop Deck’s four private boxes. The package includes 8-10 concert tickets, a designated service attendant, two VIP parking passes and two beer/wine/soda/water drink tickets per person. The Bud Light Hilltop Deck is a fun and casual space at the top of DTE’s United Shore lawn overlooking the venue with full food and beverage access and open to all lawn patrons. NEW MENU ITEMS
This year at DTE Energy Music Theatre, guests can enjoy an extensive selection of craft beers as well as new food offerings including a Walking Taco, Honcho Outpost’s Famous House Made Donuts and Specialty Franks. A new refreshing option available at The Cabana Bar this year is Electric Lemonade, a classic summer cocktail served in a mason jar. In addition, guests will enjoy a selection of spiked seltzers as well as hard ciders throughout all three outdoor venues. 

The Ivy Lounge, the exclusive open-air club for DTE Royal members only, introduces new St. Joe’s Healthy menu options this season: 

  • Mediterranean Sampler – Lemon Hummus, feta dip, avocado dip with pita, naan, flatbreads and tortilla chips
  • Mandarin Orange and Strawberry Salad – Slivered Almonds, Fresh Strawberries, Mandarin Oranges over Field Greens with a Balsamic Orange Vinaigrette
  • Southwest Turkey Slider – Pepper jack cheese, chipotle aioli, avocado and smoked corn salsa, served with seasoned fries
  • Key Lime Pie – Graham cracker crust, key lime custard with fresh whipped cream
  • Fruit Tart – Graham Cracker crust, sliced fresh strawberries, kiwis, blueberries, mandarin oranges and raspberries brushed with an apricot glaze over sweet vanilla custard

VENUE HOT SPOTS FOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE
DTE fans continue to enjoy a wide array of dining choices inside the venue as well:

  • The Arbor is open to all DTE patrons and is the destination for post-show drinks and food. Open for an hour after the show ends, fans can enjoy DJ entertainment and late-night food favorites, including new BBQ Street Fair offerings, served alongside an assortment of beer choices and specialty cocktails. 
  • The Pine Tap, an expansive deck located inside DTE’s West Entrance, offers more than 20 world-class craft, retro and traditional beers, a full-service bar and a menu that includes sliders, hotdogs, brats and Mexican specialties. Founders Brewing Company will now be featured at The Mac Shack, which serves Union Joints’ legendary mac and cheese, pulled pork sliders and more. 
  • Honcho Outpost located at the top of the stairs in the venue’s East Plaza, returns for its third season at DTE Energy Music Theatre serving up Union Joints style Latin street food. Menu items include Honcho Nacho, Honcho Taco, Honcho Burrito, and the new world famous Fried Donuts accompanied with chocolate or caramel syrup.

At Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill, concertgoers will enjoy new frozen drink offerings at the Margarita Bar. The MotorCity Casino Hotel VIP Club, a pre-event destination for season ticket holders, sponsors and their guests, is open to all patrons two hours after doors open to the venue. The space is also open post-show following select events and keeps the entertainment going with music, dancing and refreshments.

The box offices at DTE Energy Music Theatre, Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill and Meadow Brook Amphitheatre are all open the 2019 summer concert season. Tickets for all 313 Presents events will be available for purchase at all amphitheatre box offices as well as the Little Caesars Arena XFINITY box office. Tickets are available at these venues without Ticketmaster Convenience fees. The amphitheatre box offices will close at the conclusion of the summer concert season. PARKING AND DIRECTIONS – PARKING LOTS OPEN BY 4:30PM

Fans attending shows this summer are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and arrive early as the Road Commission for Oakland County recently began construction projects near DTE Energy Music Theatre, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre, and Macomb County Transportation Improvement Program Projects working on roads near Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre. 

All amphitheatre parking lot opens will be open by 4:30 p.m. and doors open to the venue 90 minutes prior to show time, unless otherwise noted. For information on directions and parking at each of the 313 Presents venues, please visit www.313presents.com/plan-your-visit/directions-parking.

Similar to 313 Presents‘ other outdoor amphitheatres, and new to Meadow Brook Amphitheatre in 2019, the parking fee ($5) is now included in the ticket price.

Construction project near DTE Energy Music Theatre:

Reconstruction and widening of Sashabaw Road to five lanes from I-75 to just south of Clarkston Road in Independence Twp. is underway and will be completed this Fall. Construction projects near Meadow Brook Amphitheatre:

Through mid-June, Walton Blvd. resurfacing between Squirrel and Adams roads will require single lane closures in each direction. Two-way traffic and all side street and driveway access will be maintained throughout the project. Project information and updates can be found at: www.rcocweb.org/456/Walton-Blvd

Segments of asphalt roadway on Adams Road is being resurfacing from Hamlin to Gunn Rd. Expect traffic delays, but roads will be open to traffic with flagging operations in the work zone. Anticipated completion is early August. Construction map can be found here.

Construction projects near Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre:

Concrete replacement is scheduled to take place this summer on Schoenherr Road from Plumbrook to 19 Mile. Metro Parkway pothole repair is underway from east of Van Dyke to Gregory St and will wrap up mid-June before the concert season gets in full swing. Pavement repair from Dodge Park northeast to Old Van Dyke Road is scheduled from May to July. The Macomb County Road Projects map page is here
